The cruise industry's hopeful a new economic report will bring the need for regulatory change to the forefront

The cruise industry's hopeful a new economic report will bring the need for regulatory change to the forefront

The sector generated just under 1.4-billion dollars, during the 2023 to 24 cruise season.

But fewer ships are expected from this year onwards, as rising costs and regulatory complexities hamper future seasons.

Cruise Lines International Association's, Joel Katz says the current season's projected to be down 20-percent.

He says the following year will also drop, and anticipates the 1.4-billion dollars will fall to about 800-million.
