Wheel of Fortune star Vanna White tries on "30 to 40" dresses for the game show

The 68-year-old famed letter-turner spends two hours browsing fittings for each episode before getting her hair done and putting makeup on her face

She told E! News: "I show up here at seven in the morning. I try on 30 to 40 dresses for fittings for the show, and then I go into hair and makeup at about 8:30."

Vanna then does a "few interviews" before her first taping begins at 11.30 and then goes on to record "many, many shows".

Elsewhere, the star - who has co-hosted Wheel of Fortune since 1982 - made heads spin with her work schedule, revealing she gets 331 days off a year.

Vanna previously told the Elvis Duran Show: "We film about 34 days a year. That's it. Six shows a day."

The TV personality - who co-hosts Wheel of Fortune and Celebrity Wheel of Fortune with 50 year old Ryan Seacrest - said she now does not even have to flip over letters.

Explaining the production's switch, Vanna said: "First, I physically turn the letters, and then I went to touch the letters, and now, a couple of years ago, they changed the set where, honestly, I don't even have to touch the letters.

"There's a laser up there, and the motion of my hand that gets near the letter, it will light up."

Vanna previously revealed that for 40 years, fans have asked her the same question when they meet her.

In April, she told Collider.com: "[They say], 'Can I buy a vowel?' And I love it.

"And 42 years later, vowels have not changed price! $250 - no inflation!"

Vanna - who has two children, 31-year-old real estate agent son Nikko, and 28-year-old tattoo artist daughter Gigi, with her 78-year-old ex-husband, former film producer George Santo Pietro - has been described as having a comforting presence.

And she always aims to put the Wheel of Fortune contestants at ease by telling them to "pretend like you're in your living room".

Speaking about how the contenders feel on the show, Vanna said: "People aren't familiar with TV and all the cameras we have.

"There are 200 people in the audience and they don't want to make a fool of themselves on TV. And it's hard!

"When you're standing at home in your living room, it's always your turn.

"When you're there, the puzzle board is like 20 feet away, and, 'Oh my gosh - where am I?'

"They do quite well considering the circumstances.

"When I first get to work in the morning, I go in and say hello to them when they're all getting in.

"I say, 'Buy vowels, don't be nervous, and pretend like you're in your living room.'

"I give them a little pep talk before they go on."
