Doubt around Auckland Airport claims domestic fares will go down

Doubt around Auckland Airport claims domestic fares will go down

    Auckland Airport
    Auckland Airport
It's uncovered details of its new 3.9-billion-dollar domestic terminal - which includes additional capacity for services to and from Auckland.

The airport says airlines can fly more, and it could make for cheaper flights.

But Board of Airline Representatives', Cath O'Brien, says it won't work for short-haul flights, and it'll be a marginal difference for long-haul.

She says for regional, domestic and tasman jet services with lower prices, it'll certainly rise due to airport charges.
