A prediction that the OCR will continue to fall as inflation stabilises

A prediction that the OCR will continue to fall as inflation stabilises

Stats NZ figures show the inflation rate for the year to December hasn't changed, sticking at 2.2 percent.

NZIER Senior Economist Ting Huang expects inflation to stay around 2 percent for most of the year.

She says it shows the Reserve Bank has been doing its job.

Huang says the lower inflation rate is because previous hikes of the OCR have been working their way through the economy.
