The Springboks have reverted to type with coach Rassie Erasmus wielding the selection axe for Sunday's second Rugby Championship test against the Wallabies at Cape Town

The Springboks have reverted to type with coach Rassie Erasmus wielding the selection axe for Sunday's second Rugby Championship test against the Wallabies at Cape Town

He's made 10 changes to the starting side that lost at Johannesburg - 90 per cent of which Erasmus claims were either planned or injury related.

South Africa's reinstalled their 6-2 forwards-backs split on the bench.

Erasmus admits having three back replacements didn't pay off at Ellis Park.

Wing Cheslin Kolbe and midfielder Damian de Allende both return from injury.
