Police and Oranga Tamariki have identified gaps in their systems, after a 10-month-old boy was murdered by his meth-addicted father

Police and Oranga Tamariki have identified gaps in their systems, after a 10-month-old boy was murdered by his meth-addicted father

CJ White died in July 2019 from head injuries inflicted by West Coast man David Sinclair - who was sentenced to life in prison.

His mother tried through several agencies to have him returned to her care.

NZ Herald Senior Crime reporter, Anna Leask, says work's been done at the Police offices, where this happened.

She says the front counter staff have been given more training around family harm - while similar has been done at Oranga Tamariki.
