Ed Sheeran has "real conflict" in his marriage to Cherry Seaborn

The 34-year-old singer has been married to Cherry since 2019 and admits that he is not afraid to tackle the more difficult elements of their relationship in his music

Speaking to fans at a Spotify Q+A session, Ed said: "Cherry knows I write about everything - not just the good stuff. Songs like Perfect exist, but so do the ones about real conflict.

"That's part of any relationship, and I think it's important to be honest about it."

The Azizam hitmaker revealed that a track that U2 frontman Bono wrote about missing his wife's birthday made him pen his own tune for Cherry.

He said: "It's a personal moment that exists only for her."

Sheeran - who has daughters Lyra, five, and Jupiter, three, with Cherry - also revealed that he had to readjust his workload in order to find the right balance between his music commitments and family life.

The A Team singer said: "In my early career, it was 100 per cent work, zero per cent personal life. Now it's 70 per cent family, 30 per cent music. Balance isn't just healthy - it's success.

"When I look back at these years with my family and friends, I want to say: I lived those days and I enjoyed every minute."

Ed has an estimated fortune of £370 million but revealed that his favourite holiday was a trip to budget resort Butlin's in Minehead earlier this year - where he dressed up in disguise as Wizzard frontman Roy Wood.

He recalled: "For my mate Doug's [stag], we went to Butlin's. It was an Eighties-themed weekender and we saw tribute bands Pearl Scam and Metal Militia.

"I dressed up as [Roy Wood from] Wizzard and I had this big beard, long white hair and sunglasses. And I was off my nut. It was great. Butlin's goes hard. I love it. I never thought I'd go to Butlin's. Then, when I was there, I was like, 'I need to come here more often - this is f****** awesome.'"

Ed recently announced that he was moving to the US but has now suggested it will only be a temporary relocation as he tours Stateside.

He told the BBC's The One Show on Monday (15.09.25): "What's wild is I've done this for all of my career. When I tour America I go live there, because I have a family, and the last time I toured America, no-one cared.

"But now there is a narrative around British people moving out of Britain, the press just wanted to jump on it and say that I was moving out."
