Kelly Ripa "tries not to act so much anymore" because she does not want to be away from her family

Another reason is that the 55-year-old star - who has starred in the likes of Ugly Betty, 30 Rock and Broad City - is focused on co-hosting her and her 54-year-old husband, actor Mark Consuelos' daily daytime talk show, Live, as well as her podcast, Let's Talk Off Camera.

Kelly - whose most recent acting role was as a guest appearance in the ABC sitcom Home Economics in 2022 - told Entertainment Weekly: "I try not to act so much anymore, it's not that I don't appreciate it, it's not that I don't love it. But I really am devoted to this show and my podcast."

The TV host - who has sons Michael, 28, and Joaquin, 22, as well as daughter Lola, 24, with Mark, whom she met on the set of the ABC drama All My Children in 1995 before they got married in 1996 - added: "I feel like my plate is full. Also, we have three adult kids, and I like to be present in their endeavours.

"Our daughter [Lola] is now starting to perform in the music scene in London, so I like to be able to be present if she needs or wants me there."

Whilst doing Live - which Kelly has co-hosted with Mark for three years, but has been on the talk show since 2001 when she presented alongside the late Regis Philbin - Kelly played Faith Fairfield ABC sitcom Hope and Faith, which co-starred Faith Ford (Hope Fairfield-Shanowski), and ran from 2003 until 2006.

And Kelly said juggling Hope and Faith's daily tapings with presenting Live was a "hard job".

She added: "When you're an actor, your schedule is not your own."

Hope and Faith gave Kelly the confidence to protect her peace on sets, and she and Faith applied a "no a******" policy on the set.

And Kelly has implemented the policy on the set of Live.

The star - who also starred opposite Mark in an episode of the CW drama series, Riverdale - said: "We very quickly became super aligned in the fact that she had great people she always worked with, and I always had great people I always worked with.

"We combined that energy. If there's any agitators, we just didn't tolerate it!"
