There won't be any radical changes to local body voting in Auckland for next year's election

There won't be any radical changes to local body voting in Auckland for next year's election

At a meeting this week council decided to proceed with the status quo of postal voting, but has decided to increase the number of special voting centres.

Councillor Shane Henderson says he was supportive of a motion which was narrowly defeated which would have seen in person voting.

He says he's happy that there will at least be extra special voting centres.

Henderson says they were a popular option last time around with long queues.
