An anonymous court officer says potential jurors are often bringing banned items into the courthouse

An anonymous court officer says potential jurors are often bringing banned items into the courthouse

Open Justice reports security officers have seized more than 22-thousand items at some of the country's biggest courts in the past 18 months.

Figures from Ministry of Justice data show items like knives, homemade tasers, and even a small axe are being seized.

The court officer says people attending court sometimes aren't aware of the rules - leading to them seizing up to 30 items in one morning.
