Moana Pasifika captain Ardie Savea has claimed the Super Rugby Pacific player of the year title after establishing an unassailable lead in voting with two weeks left in the regular season

He collected the maximum six votes during their 27-21 win over the Blues, putting him beyond the reach of Brumbies forward Tom Hooper and Chiefs first-five Damian McKenzie a fortnight from the play-offs.
