Hopes from Northland first five Rivez Reihana that a number of reinforcements can boost their forward pack when they kick off their NPC campaign against Taranaki in New Plymouth

The Taniwha will challenge the Bulls for the Ranfurly Shield this evening, as they look to claim the Log o' Wood for the first time since 1978.

Reihana says some off-season acquisitions could give Northland the edge this season.

Kickoff is at 7:10pm, with live commentary on Gold Sport and iHeartRadio.
