    A jury's reliving the moment a fatal Wellington hostel fire began in 2023, which left five people dead


    The Loafers Lodge trial is underway, with a 50-year-old man denying five charges of murder and two of arson.

    Crown prosecutor Stephanie Bishop says CCTV shows the man setting two fires that night, while 84 people were inside.

    A jury of eight woman and four men have been hearing opening statements - which includes the first 111 call made.

    The trial is set for five weeks.
