    A Waiheke Island ferry's caught fire in the Hauraki Gulf


    Coastguard says the Maritime Operations Centre received a mayday call at 2.40pm.

    A spokeswoman says Coastguard Auckland hit the water minutes later with three rescue vessels and evacuated passengers.

    No injuries have been reported.
