Cannabis, methamphetamine, MDMA, and cocaine - will be screened in roadside tests, from December

Cannabis, methamphetamine, MDMA, and cocaine - will be screened in roadside tests, from December

Legislation passed this year to let Police conduct random roadside saliva tests - similar to drink-driving enforcement.

The Government says about a-third of all road deaths involve an impairing drug.

Police Minister Mark Mitchell says rollout of the new tests will begin in the Wellington District - and cover the whole country by mid-2026.
