Dunedin police are alerting Oranga Tamariki to the case of a man who fled from police - with a four year old

The ODT reports a 37 year old already-forbidden driver failed a breath test on King Edward Street in South Dunedin last night.

Police say when asked to pull over to complete the next phase of testing, he sped off.

After parking, it's alleged he took the child from the car and ran away.

He was arrested, the vehicle was impounded and he'll appear in court at a later date
