Changes to the HPV vaccine could save money, increase coverage and reduce cancer

Changes to the HPV vaccine could save money, increase coverage and reduce cancer

The Public Health Communication Centre wants New Zealand to change to a single dose of the vaccine which is highly protective against the virus.

Currently year eight students are offered two jabs, six months apart.

The Centre says coverage has fallen short of the 75 percent target since it was added to the vaccine schedule in 2008.
