15-year-old Sam Ruthe has reflected on a dead heat with Olympian Sam Tanner in the 1500 metres at the national track and field championships in Dunedin

He kicked on the home straight, meaning the pair breasted the tape in the identical time of three minutes 44.31 seconds.
That's a reference to Tanner - the pair are both coached by Craig Kirkwood.
Ruthe will bid to become the youngest man to run a sub-four-minute mile at Mount Smart next week.
