    It's the time to relax for most, but for Northland first responders it's busier than ever


    Northern Rescue Helicopter's crews completed more than 110 missions in just 15 days over the Christmas and New Year period.

    Over 2025 the Northland and Auckland-based helicopters flew more than 2-thousand missions - from water-based accidents to road crashes.

    Chief Operating Officer Karl Taylor says they're just one small cog in a huge rescue machine.

    He says there are hundreds of people including Police and firefighters who work together to help one person.
