There will an increased police presence in Auckland's Mt Albert suburb after a body was found in a walkway on Tuesday evening

There will an increased police presence in Auckland's Mt Albert suburb after a body was found in a walkway on Tuesday evening

He was found on Roy Clements Treeway.

His age, name and cause of death haven't been revealed by police, but they say a firearm wasn't involved.

Police are urging anyone who was in the area on Tuesday evening and saw anything, or has CCTV or dashcam footage, to contact them.

Detective Inspector Chris Barry says despite the increased presence there's no need for locals to be worried.

He says a dedicated team is working to solve the crime.
