    Boris Becker has made a Wimbledon commentating comeback in Italy

    The three-time winner of the tournament, 56, was imprisoned in the UK in 2022 and deported to his native Germany under early release terms after hiding £2.5 million in assets following his bankruptcy ruling.


    He could be kept away from the UK - where he spent years as one of the BBC's regular Wimbledon commentating team - for up to a decade, but it's now been reported he hopes to return far sooner.

    The Times revealed he has been offering his opinion on this year's Wimbledon for Sky Italia.

    It quoted him saying about how he misses Wimbledon and his work as a BBC pundit: "I'm working hard with the authorities to have all the applications ready to be back (in Britain) for next year."

    Next year marks the 40th anniversary of his first Wimbledon win, which amazingly came when he was 17.

    Boris kicked off his BBC career in 2002 three years after he retired from professional tennis.

    The fallen tennis ace tearfully told in his recent Apple+ documentary, 'Boom! Boom! The World vs. Boris Becker' how there is going to be "another chapter" in his life.

    Boris - nicknamed 'Boom Boom' in tribute to his staggering serve - said:

    "That's not the end yet - there's going to be another chapter."

    He has been reportedly lining up book deals and TV deals as he works on his comeback and reforming his brand.

    Boris, famed for his past womanising, is now dating risk analyst Lilian de Carvalho Monteiro and said in an interview after he was released from jail with German broadcaster Sat.1 he faced death threats while behind bars and feared showering with other prisoners.

    Boris added in the chat an inmate called John in HMP Wandsworth told him before he was moved to the lower security HMP Huntercombe that "if I didn't do this or that he would kill me".

    He also said he was sent "crazy" by his time in prison.
