Act's Treaty Principles Bill has been attracting unprecedented public interest

Act's Treaty Principles Bill has been attracting unprecedented public interest

Online submissions on the bill close at 11.59 tonight, while hard copy submissions can be delivered to Parliament until 5pm tomorrow.

The Clerk of the House has told RNZ the Parliament website received an "unprecedented" number of submissions yesterday.

The bill's architect, David Seymour, says , he's been told 15-thousand submissions were received within the first 10 days of the consultation process.

He says he knows people with all sorts of views are encouraging others to submit, which he thinks is healthy.
