Katie Price wants to reconcile with Peter Andre 16 years after they last spoke

The 46-year-old star and her 52-year-old ex-husband - who have children Junior, 19 and Princess, 17, together - split in 2009 after four years of marriage, and they haven't spoken since the divorce

She told Paul C Brunson's 'We Need To Talk' podcast: "Until this day, me and Pete have never sat down and spoken about it.

"It's all through lawyers. I've never sat down with him, we probably would've sorted it out but we were kept apart."

The podcast host asked: "You've not talked to Peter Andre - would you have a chat with him here?"

Katie replied: "Yeah I would. There'd be sparks."

And Paul told her: "If we can, we will make that happen because I think it would be incredible to reconcile that - it shouldn't even be sparks."

When Katie and Peter - who is now married to doctor Emily MacDonagh - split in 2009, it was rumoured their breakup was over her close relationship with her dressage rider, Andrew Gould.

Now, Katie explained: "We broke up because he thought I was having an affair with my dressage rider, and I've never slept with him.

"I just kept my horse there, and I was happy keeping my horse there, and he was married.

"But when me and Pete split, because he used to keep saying, 'That's it. I've had enough. I've had enough'. It got to a point where I went, 'Well f****** divorce me.' "

The former glamour model admitted she can still remember the moment the news broke that they were splitting up.

She said: "I remember the day, because then I flew to the Maldives with the kids. That day, I'm at the airport, it's all on Sky News.

"It wasn't mutual at all. And then I redone a statement saying I don't want to split with Pete, it's Pete that's splitting with me."

At the time, Katie described Peter as "the love of my life".

She continued in a statement: "We have children together, and I am devastated and disappointed by his decision to separate and divorce me as I married him for life.

"This is not what I want, and the decision has been taken out of my hands.

"I will not comment further or do any interviews regarding the separation, but I will always love my Pete."
