???1;New Zealanders are being urged not abandon their dreams of owning a home

Data from the Finance and Mortgage Advisers Association, reveals more than 70 percent of non-homeowners believe buying property is beyond their reach.

The group says many falsely believe banks are the only option available, for securing a home-loan.

Managing Director Peter White, says buyers should seek professional advise on other mortgage-options, as now's a great time to enter the market.

He says with interest rates expected to continue downwards, home-ownership is getting closer to people's affordability.
