Macaulay Culkin has reminded fans that his middle name is also Macaulay Culkin

The 45-year-old actor has recalled the moment he changed his name back in 2019 after letting his fans vote on the new moniker.

During A Nostalgic Night With Macaulay Culkin over the weekend, he was asked about his "actual name" at the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center.

Speaking at the event celebrating the 35th anniversary of Home Alone, he said: "My name is Macaulay Macaulay Culkin Culkin."

Back in November 2018, he appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and announced a poll for fans to pick his middle name, which was previously Carson.

Other options included "The McRib Is Back", and "Kieran", after his Succession star brother.

Macaulay quipped: "Macaulay Kieran Culkin. That would be great. I love my brother. Between me and him we have exactly one Oscar."

He admitted the winning name was worth it for "one joke", which he gets to make any time a fan thinks they recognise him in public.

He said: "The final vote was Macaulay Culkin. So my name is Macaulay Macaulay Culkin Culkin.

"If somebody comes up to me at the airport and says, 'Excuse me, are you Macaulay Culkin?' I can say, 'Well, Macaulay Culkin is my middle name. ' "

Macaulay is father to two sons with his actress partner Brenda Song and he previously revealed he is "not intending to raise a nepo baby" and he's glad the boys are "thoroughly unimpressed" when they see their mom and dad on TV.

During an appearance on the Hot Ones YouTube show, he explained: "My kids have no idea that me and Brenda are famous.

"They see momma on TV because when she's not around I put on [her TV show] Suite Life [The Suite Life of Zack and Cody].

"Just saying. I say oh yeah, no I showed them some Suite Life and you know what [my son] Dak said?

"He goes: 'Someday I want to grow up and marry a girl just as pretty as [Brenda's character] London Tipton'. I'm like: 'Yeah yeah, yep yep'.

"But they are thoroughly unimpressed that we're on TV and stuff like that. I don't want them to get mired by all that kind of stuff."

He added: "I'm not intending to raise a nepo baby no matter how much they're going to be like them, you know?"
