    Australian bowling coach Dan Vettori believes the omission of a specialist spinner for the fifth Ashes test at Sydney is an outlier, not the new norm


    The hosts have gone with a full seam attack at the SCG for the first time since the 1880s.

    Vettori says recent history told them spin has been ineffective at the venue, but he's convinced spin will continue to have a place.
