There's flooding on Auckland's North Shore, as wild weather smashes the upper North Island

Multiple weather warnings are in place for the North Island and the top of the South Island.

MetService says people in Auckland City, Rodney, the Gulf Islands and Albany can expect very heavy rain and potential flash flooding.

Surface flooding's already been spotted in Wairau Valley, with a video on social media showing the water ankle deep on Porana Road.
