New data shows Kiwis lost significantly more money to online credit card scams last month

Netsafe's scam update found financial losses jumped 235 percent month on month, climbing to more than 6-thousand dollars in October.

Netsafe's Chief Online Safety Officer Shaun Lyons says scammers are changing their tactics and improving their sophistication.

He says they pivot from one thing to another to try and catch people off guard, and it's something people need to be constantly aware of.
