Five people have been arrested following a gang tangi in Rotorua today

Those arrested face charges ranging from traffic related offences to possession of an offensive weapon.

Four vehicles were also impounded, while another vehicle was ordered off the road, and 20 infringement notices were issued.

Jeffrey Gear was president of the Rotorua Filthy Few gang for a decade, before handing in his patch in 2021 and turning his life around.

He died on Sunday, aged 47.

Police will also examine CCTV and phone footage to identify anyone else committing offences.
