Gloriavale's condemned private school is remaining open for the time being

The school was supposed to lose its licence today - with the Ministry of Education proposing several alternative options for its students.

But the School Board's lodged an application with the High Court for a judicial review of the deregistration decision - slamming it as unjust.

Secretary for Education, Ellen McGregor-Reid says the court's granted interim orders that the cancellation should not take effect today.

She says the parties have now agreed the school should remain open, pending an upcoming hearing.
