The east coast of the North Island's looking like the place to be this long weekend

The east coast of the North Island's looking like the place to be this long weekend

MetService says the whole of the North Island's looking mostly fine and dry this weekend, with temperatures reaching up to 27-degrees in eastern areas.

It says there could be rain at times for the South Island - as a weak cold fronts move north.

Meteorologist Devlin Lynden says places like Bay of Plenty and Rotorua could be in for some stunning days.

He says the odd patch of cloud might move through, but it's otherwise set to be fine and warm.
