People flying in and out of Wellington today are being urged to defer non-urgent travel

Around two dozen flights have been cancelled or delayed because of fog this morning, which has now cleared.

Air New Zealand spokesman, Doug Grant, says the airline's doing its best to get customers where they need to go, but there's limited flight availability.

He says those who need to travel should keep an eye on the airline's Arrivals and Departures page for the latest information.

People who no longer need to travel can transfer their booking to another date, or receive a credit for future travel.
