New Zealand's labour shortage has employers bumping shoulders to fill roles

Trade Me says it had for a record-breaking 80-thousand job vacancies in this year's second quarter.

Sectors relying heavily on migrant workers, like hospitality, manufacturing and constructions, had the biggest lift.

Trade Me Sales Director Matt Tolich says they've seen the biggest pay increases in a decade.

He says employers are trying to use pay to attract candidates - but a recent survey shows job hunters value work flexibility the most.
