New Zealand has woken up in the new Covid-19 Traffic Light system

New Zealand has woken up in the new Covid-19 Traffic Light system

It's an end to 107 days of lockdown for Auckland - which has shifted in to the Red setting - allowing more freedoms for vaccinated people.

With a Covid Pass, hospitality businesses and events can operate with a limit of 100 people, seated and separated.

Gatherings such as weddings, funerals and events in places of worship or marae can also go ahead with up to 100 people with social distancing.

Northland, Taupo, Rotorua, Kawerau, Whakatane, Opotiki, Gisborne, Wairoa, Rangitikei, Whanganui and Ruapehu are also living in Red.

The rest of the North Island and all of the South Island are starting at Orange, meaning there are no limits with a Covid Pass.

Without the certificate - hospitality must be contactless and gatherings are limited to 50 people with social distancing.
