Disappointment from the mother of Constable Matthew Hunt - at news the Coroner won't open an inquiry into his murder

Hunt was gunned down in Auckland in 2020 -- and murderer Eli Epiha is serving at least 27 years behind bars.

The Coroner's decided there'll be no coronial inquest - because Police have increased and updated their staff training.

Diane Hunt say this is the fourth Christmas without her son - and she'd hoped an inquiry would bring more transparency about his death.

She says it's too late for him - and he had to lose his life for his colleagues to get better training.
