Two people have been charged with murder after a man's body was found lying on a road in Auckland's Point England over the weekend,

Police say they've arrested a 21-year-old man and 22-year-old woman, both of Auckland

Police will oppose bail when the two appear in the Auckland District Court tomorrow, jointly charged with murder.

Police say it appears the the man was run over by his own car, which had allegedly been stolen.

It was found later, after having been driven extensively across the city.
