The Tall Ferns have fallen short in their quest to hoist basketball's Cup in China

The Tall Ferns have fallen short in their quest to hoist basketball's Cup in China

New Zealand have been knocked out in the quarter-finals 77-62 by Japan.

The Tall Ferns made a promising start and led 41-39 at half-time, before an eight point third quarter stunted all momentum.

New Zealand will now play for fifth and sixth tonight.
