    A 26-year-old is due in court today following a house fire in Palmerston North yesterday


    Fire and Emergency responded to the blaze on Main Street just before 4pm, where the home was fully involved in flames.

    Police say a man at the scene allegedly had a weapon and was assessed at the station for possible smoke inhalation.

    He is being charged with willfully setting fire to a property and possessing an offensive weapon.
