    Airline travel is soaring across the Tasman

    Qantas -- which also owns Jetstar -- has seen profits surge, at the same time Air New Zealand is seeing profits plunge.

    Our national carrier's continuing to face engine maintenance issues and weak demand.

    Kiwi aviation expert Matthew Findlay has told Channel Seven, Qantas is seeing very strong demand.

    Findlay says many airlines will now be looking at Qantas's result, and see if there are opportunities there they may be missing.
