Isla Fisher has found it "challenging but deeply rewarding" rebuilding her life after her divorce

The Now You See Me Now You Don't actress - who split from Sacha Baron Cohen, the father of her three children, in 2024 after more than 23 years together - has relocated to London and is enjoying the "new version" of her life as a single woman.

She told the new issue of Elle Decoration magazine: "Trying to create a new life from a grassroots level, at least emotionally, has been challenging, but deeply rewarding. I'm enjoying this new version of my life. I don't need to party in my house anymore. I love to get in the bath. I'll light some candles, bring in my laptop and put on something on Netflix. That's as exciting as it gets."

And when the furniture arrived for the property, Isla, 49, couldn't hide her emotions.

She admitted: "'When it all arrived, I did have a bit of a cry because this was my first time as a single woman, being in a home of my own."

The Australian actress adores being in London.

She said: "It's such a fabulous city. It's a place where you can tell stories and I guess I'm writing my own one now."

The Wedding Crashers actress had a long list of priorities when it came to finding her ideal home.

She explained: "I've been obsessed with weeping willows since I was a kid and there's one in the backyard, so it felt like kismet.

"I wanted the kids' bedrooms on my floor so that I can monitor smartphone use; there needed to be space for my family who live in Greece and visit me a lot and, lastly, outdoor space. With the Australian upbringing I was lucky enough to have, I've always been barefoot in the garden or on the beach, so this is as close as I can get to feeling like I'm home."

Isla recently reflected on how she is ready to embrace her "new identity as somebody outside of a partnership".

She told Harper's Bazaar magazine: "I've had a tough couple of years, but I'm making it through. I'm really excited for the next chapter.

"I'm refocusing on my career, because previously I was very much focused on my kids, which I still am, obviously, because [they're] my true love. But I'm enjoying tackling work again.

"That's been one of the benefits of a challenging situation: the luxury of asking myself, What would I like to do professionally and privately? ...

"I'm trying to remind myself of my new identity as somebody outside of a partnership and to stay as buoyant as possible. Any time there's change, it's hard to adapt. But hopefully I'm doing an okay job."
