LaKeith Stanfield is excited to "stretch the boundaries" of his own style with Dior

The 34-year-old actor and musician has represented the fashion label at its Paris Fashion Week menswear show, and he tried something new with a layered outfit with patchwork denim.

He told WWD: "I haven't appeared in any looks that are similar to this. So I'm like, let me stretch the boundaries a little bit.

"Do something new, do something different, get into a new comfort zone."

He's taking a similar approach with his acting career, particularly with his upcoming role in genre-bending new film I Love Boosters.

The movie - set to be released in May - also stars Keke Palmer and Naomi Ackie, and while the film features characters described as "fashion mavens", firmer plot details are being kept under wraps.

He teased: "What I think I can safely say is no one has seen anything like this.

"It was nice to have a piece of art that can critique it.

"[It] seems like we live in a world increasingly spearheaded by greed, so it's nice to kind of survey that and then think about how it impresses upon us."

LaKeith joined Dior as an ambassador earlier this month, having been the first to wear the fashion house's floral-embroidered blue denim 'revolution' coat, matching waistcoat and light blue boot-cut jeans at the British Fashion Awards in December.

Announcing the latest step in their partnership, creative director Jonathan Anderson said in a statement: "LaKeith has an energy that feels both spontaneous and composed. He's an actor's actor, with a remarkable range, bringing something unexpected and magical to every role. I can't wait to work together."

The Judas and the Black Messiah actor hailed the partnership "humbling".

He said in his own statement: "To collaborate with Jonathan Anderson's astute vision, within a house whose history reads like art itself, where detail becomes design and design becomes story, is humbling and inspiring."
