Patient volumes have fallen by up to 50 percent at some EDs.
Waitemata DHB CEO and Northern Region COVID-19 response lead Dr Dale Bramley is concerned people are not coming in for care when they need it.
He says people shouldn't avoid reaching out for emergency help due to the fear of being infected with COVID-19 because there are separate areas for coronavirus patients to be treated.
