A rural health expert is worried trust-funded hospitals and medical centres might be overlooked

Otago University senior research fellow Dr Fiona Doolan-Noble says she'd like assurances DHB funding for rural community trust hospitals will continue in some form under the restructure.

She says rural hospitals are closing right, left and centre in the US, and they would be a real loss if they went here.
