Covid cases in Waikato aren't likely to stop Auckland moving to Level Three

Covid cases in Waikato aren't likely to stop Auckland moving to Level Three

Three household contacts of a person released from Mt Eden Prison have tested positive -- including a child who attended Mangatangi School while infectious on Thursday.

The news comes hours before Cabinet is due to meet, to confirm whether Auckland moves to Level Three tomorrow night.

Deputy Prime Minister Grant Robertson says while it's an emerging situation, he has some confidence the situation is contained.

He's sure more information will come out through the day, and then it will be a case of weighing things up.

A pop-up testing centre for the Mangatangi community is being set up at Wharekawa Marae in Whakatiwai this morning.

Jacinda Ardern will announce Cabinet's decision at 4pm -- and we'll have that announcement live on Newstalk ZB.
