National wants to get the Treaty Principles Bill over and done with

Parliament's Justice Committee has released a report -- showing a record amount of submissions, with more than 300-thousand people having their say.

Around 90 percent of those who wrote feedback opposed the Bill, and roughly 85 percent of the 529 people who spoke to the Committee disagreed with the Bill.

The Justice Committee's also recommended the Bill not proceed.

Chair James Meager says his party wants to move on.

He says its 300-thousand submissions, so there may be academic value, but they don't think the Bill will proceed.
