The Education Minister's pleased with the progress on the Government's donations scheme for decile 1-7 schools

More than 15-hundred schools have opted in to receive 150 dollars per child - instead of asking parents for donations.

Chris Hipkins says it's slightly more than he was expecting - with 90 percent of schools now getting the extra funding.

He says it's a really successful outcome for a voluntary scheme.
