Covid 19 has driven a spike in used-car prices

Covid 19 has driven a spike in used-car prices

Trade Me Motors data shows the median asking price for used vehicles has risen 35 per cent since 2019 - up to almost 13-and-a-half-thousand dollars in July.

Driven dot co dot nz deputy editor David Linklater says there've been supply and demand issues since the first Covid-19 lockdown.

He says dealers can't get enough used cars - it's hard to buy them overseas, ship them here and when they arrive there's huge demand.
