    High hopes for an environmentally friendly alternative for flying

    A fully electric plane made its maiden Cook Strait crossing this morning from Blenheim to to Wellington.

    The Electric Air flight coincides with the beginning of the Glasgow Cop 26 climate change conference.

    Founder and pilot Gary Freedman says this showcases the possibilities of electric aircraft.

    Freedman says the planes are a quiet, smooth, guilt-free experience.
