Sulu Fitzpatrick has been thinking about retiring from netball for a while

The 29-year-old Mystics and Silver Ferns defender announced earlier this week she would retire from netball after next year's World Championships in South Africa.

However she has left the door open to a possible return in the future.

But Fitzpatrick says her kids need her and she also wants other young defenders to be given a chance.
