It's getting more expensive for New Zealanders to fill their bellies, especially if they love dairy

Stats NZ says food prices have increased 6.9 percent since last year.

They have gone up across the five measured categories.

Stats NZ spokesperson Katrina Dewbery says that certain products have shot up in price quicker than others.

She says yoghurt is 22 percent more expensive this year.
